There are 25 rare test pressings of the record. These have been numbered 1-25, signed and doodled by the artist. When a record is printed on to vinyl for the first time, artists are sent an advanced copy of 'test pressings' in order to review the sound quality before the final production. They are a one off, unique pressing of the record and will never be duplicated.
‘I Want to Be the Anchor’ is the debut album from Scottish singer-songwriter, Emma Miller
Recorded at Freda Recordings in Tennessee with producer Nick Bullock. ’I Want to Be the Anchor’ is a record filled with the maturity and strong creative perspective that comes from an artist who has spent years honing her craft, overcoming life's challenges and landing in a deeply grounded space. It covers the themes of love loss, personal growth and the realisation of wanting children. The songs were written over the course of the last few years, with the title track being finished a day before getting in the room with bandmates Derrek Phillips (drums) and Clark Singleton (bass) to capture the live take that made it on the record.
This album is a step towards a more earthy and stripped back sound for the artist, allowing the songs to speak for themselves and highlighting the talents of the incredible musicians Emma was privileged to work with in Tennessee.
Only half the record will be available on streaming. Therefore, the only way to access the full album is through vinyl, CD, digital download or owning the limited digital Collector’s Edition which unlocks lossless files and an exclusive vault of bonus content.
